On December 10, in honor of International Human Rights Day, the “Psychology and Law” workshop was held at the “Urartu” University of Practical Psychology and Sociology.

The workshop speaker, “Urartu” University lecturer and lawyer S. Hambardzumyan, presented:

  • The main directions of psychology and law and their areas of cooperation

  • How power changes a person: an analysis of the well-known Stanford Prison Experiment

  • What to do when a client confesses to a crime: which is more important — confidentiality or the law?

  • How to protect a child from school bullying and teacher pressure

The workshop participants engaged in team discussions through the analysis of situational problems (case studies). The workshop expert, psychologist, “Urartu” University lecturer, PhD in Psychology A. Muradyan, evaluated the team work with professional comments.

The workshop was attended by the teaching staff and students of “Urartu” University, graduate psychologists, colleagues from the Yerevan State Base Medical College — specialists and students — as well as legal staff from the Trade Union of Archive Workers.

The workshop proceeded with dynamic discussions and result-oriented analyses.
